Welcome to My Secret Garden Counseling
"Every little thing wants to be loved." ~Sue Monk Kidd
I desire for My Secret Garden to be a place where people can come “as is” and find hope and healing for their brokenness. I believe that people are “fearfully and wonderfully made” – each a masterpiece of God – and I long to help restore the beauty of their original design. I invite people to lay down their hurts, their shame, and their sadness, and allow it to be transformed into something good.
The name of my counseling service comes from a much beloved children’s book, “My Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This story is the tale of two children who have suffered from painful circumstances that have affected their outlook on life. Together, they find health, strength and love through the work of restoring an overgrown, abandoned garden. Restoration is a process that requires time, energy, weeding, cultivating, fertilizing, lots of sunshine/encouragement, pruning, and watering, Growth is a process done in secret, underground, behind safe walls, with someone who comes alongside you to help restore any damage that has been done before.
